Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Lead Charge Nurse (AN1) is responsible for assisting with the clinical management and administrative coordination of the ICU. The position involves clinical and administrative responsibilities, including:

  • Coordinating multi-facility elective or urgent admissions and transfers within the UCLA Health System, under supervision of the UD, CNM, and Director of Patient Placement.
  • Communicating effectively with referring and accepting Physicians, Executive Management, Patient and Guest Services, and hospital support systems.
  • Developing expertise in the UCLA Care Connect EPIC EHR bed management system.
  • Collaborating with management and Nursing leadership to improve bed management and patient experience.
  • Assisting in staffing needs based on scheduled and anticipated service demands.

Salary Range: $70.41 - $102.30 hourly

Job Qualifications

We’re seeking a highly-skilled, self-motivated nursing professional with:

  • BSN or MSN required
  • 2 years of ICU RN experience required
  • BLS certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association required
  • CCRN certification preferred
  • Proficiency in implementing nursing interventions consistently
  • Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments
  • Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans involving patients, families, and staff
  • Experience leading unit projects is preferred
