Overview

Schedule: 7PM-7AM | 12 hours | 36 hours weekly

Purpose Statement / Position Summary

The Registered Nurse, under general supervision, conducts patient assessments, participates in the development of the plan of care, implements and evaluates care according to patient‑specific age and/or developmental needs. Collaborates with other health care team members in delivery of care. Employee will follow applicable policies and procedures in handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.

Neonatal Intensive Critical Care Unit (NICCU)

A level IV neonatal intensive care unit, that features 58 beds and serves as an international referral center with the majority of patients from the western United States. We provide a complete range of medical and surgical services for neonates with the most complex conditions. The unit’s specialized programs include the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) Program, a Whole‑Body Therapeutic Hypothermia Program, complex surgical specialties, highly specialized ventilatory support & home ventilation program, neonatal and infant diagnostic and follow‑up services.

Minimum Qualifications / Work Experience
  • 1+ years’ experience as a Level III NICCU RN required; NICCU experience Level IV preferred
  • Broad knowledge of patient care principles and equipment.
  • Ability to assess effectiveness of patient care; maintain a calm demeanor and assist in crises and emergencies; prioritize tasks for complex patient care; communicate tactfully, professionally and effectively, verbally and in writing.
Education / Licensure / Certification
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing
  • BSN preferred
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of California
  • Current American Heart Association CPR certification.
  • BLS/PALS required
  • NRP Certification

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description.
