Registered Nurse - OB​/GYN

CLIENT OFFER 0800 - 1630 M-F and rotational weekend coverage Weekend shifts are typically 0730 - approx. 1130 or possibly a little longer depending on the number of patients Weekend rotations are covered by several nurses on a voluntary sign-up basis first, and if we have gaps, then we assign. Most nurses work two or three weekend days per month, but it varies up or down.

All weekend time is overtime since this is coverage for full time nurse who will be needed all weekdays. The Cedars-Sinai Fertility and Reproductive Medicine Center offers a full range of services and treatments for individuals and couples who want to conceive now or in the future. We also deliver care for all people with hormonal conditions that may affect fertility.

Our board-certified reproductive endocrinologists offer expertise in diagnosing and treating fertility conditions. Our fertility doctors' commitment to meeting a higher standard through advanced training translates to better care. Summary of Essential Duties:
• Assist and chaperone MDs with set-up, procedures, ultrasounds, pelvic exams, and post-procedure patient care.
• Provide coverage for clinical assistants, LVNs, and coordinating clinic flow.
• Reviewing charts; preparing fee tickets; making follow-up calls to physician's offices, patients with results, and post-procedural calls.
• Coordinates all infertility treatments from beginning to end with patients, physicians, and Assisted Reproductive Technology staff.
• Coordinates all other aspects of patients' care such as: diagnostic testing, referrals, telephoning prescriptions or refills with physician's orders, and retrieving ordered test results.
• Demonstrates extensive patient education face-to-face and over-the-phone regarding: program services offered, treatment details, patients' plan-of-care, multi-steps, up-coming treatment details, lab result interpretation, injection teaching, different diagnostic testing preparations, and pre-and post-operative teaching.
• Perform Oral Glucose Tolerance, Adrenocorticoid Hormone testing, and phlebotomy as needed.
• Communicate thoroughly to physicians and patients about abnormal lab results and proper follow up.
• Daily follow up of ordered labs, especially those undergoing fertility treatments, and communicating to patients the appropriate treatment plan. Qualifications

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
• BSN preferred License/Certification:
• Current, unrestricted California State RN License required
• American Heart Association BLS required

Experience:

• A minimum of 1 year of acute care nursing experience required
• At least 1 year of experience with care coordination in a fertility practice preferred
