What will you be doing in this role?
The Associate Director, Community Benefit Giving Office (CBGO), provides management for Cedars-Sinai s partnerships and sponsor ships team. This hybrid role leads all health system partnership grantmaking, sponsor ships, and grants management and related staff of the CBGO.
The Associate Director, CBGO partners with the Executive Director to maintain a best-in-class grantmaking program, including high-impact grantmaking and a centralized philanthropic sponsorship hub for Cedars-Sinai. With input from internal collaborators and leaders related to the partnerships and sponsorship team, the Associate Director, CBGO develops funding recommendations, negotiates grant agreements and leads grant application processes, reviews, approvals and other administrative processes in conjunction with CBGO staff.
The Associate Director, CBGO also oversees data management in areas such as refinement of application and reporting processes, database management, and the use of data for evaluation and decision making. Provides strategic partnership and support on grantmaking initiatives to benefit Los Angeles communities. Also, principally focuses and supervises CBGO staff carrying out grants management, sponsorship protocols and other grantmaking projects, including consultants, when applicable.
In conjunction with the Executive Director and the Vice President, Community Engagement, the Associate Director, CBGO supports both the internal and external profile of the CBGO, in partnership with health system leadership. To further the efforts of Cedars-Sinai s Community Benefit mission, the Associate Director, CBGO also fosters relationships with other grantmakers and current and prospective grantees, including leadership and expert representation on local and health system collaboratives.
Stewards relationships with internal partners related to the work of the CBGO, and oversees ongoing intra- and inter-departmental process rollouts relating to Cedars-Sinai s Community Benefit Giving.
Duties include:
- Manages the processes and protocols relating to a community-focused philanthropic office with Cedars-Sinai. Creates sustainable and effective approach to community benefit for Cedars-Sinai by overseeing sponsor ships, health system partnerships and clinical division, grants management and supporting cross-portfolio and high impact grantmaking.
- Maintains and directs a best-in-class community benefit giving program in concert with community benefit leadership and CBGO staff, supervises and advises grants management and sponsorship staff while supporting grantmaking through reviewing funding and evaluation major grant initiatives. Responsible for review and approval support for grants up to $100,000.
- Manages team members and consultants related to partnership, sponsorship, and grants management initiatives as well as for ongoing administrative responsibilities. Trains and develops team members related in both subject matter expertise and professional skill development.
- Oversees funding and grant management processes for grantmaking, including refinement of application and reporting processes, database management, the use of data for evaluation and decision making, and annual budget and strategy planning. Supports Senior Grants Manager in buildout and development of grants management database systems.
- Manages health system grantmaking, including CSMH and other partners.
- Supports management of the internal and external profile of Cedars-Sinai’s institutional giving in alignment with organizational priorities and needs.
- Develops and fosters relationships among grantees, community partners, and the grantmaking community as well as stewards relationships with health system partners related to sponsorship and grantmaking processes.
