PATH serves homeless families, homeless Veterans, and chronically homeless adults. The Community Affairs VISTA member will coordinate volunteer and in-kind programs which directly support these clients while they are enrolled in PATH’s homeless services, and after they are permanently housed. In doing so, the VISTA member is actively involved in helping end homelessness.

The Community Affairs VISTA member will provide recommendations on volunteer scheduling, tracking, and acknowledgements in the Los Angeles market. Improvement Strategies:
The Community Affairs VISTA member will help streamline volunteer onboarding and orientation processes for the Los Angeles market so that volunteer programs are improved to better reflect participant and organization needs. In addition to engaging in system implementation of new volunteer management system.
- The Community Affairs VISTA member will coordinate volunteer and in-kind programs which directly support PATH clients while they are enrolled in PATH’s homeless services, and after they are permanently housed.
- The VISTA member will focus on implementing a new volunteer management system for Los Angeles.
- The VISTA member will collaborate with site staff on the implementation, set-up and system training as well as maintaining and improving system processes.
- They will focus on streamlining applications and volunteer screening processes for onboarding, orientation and ongoing volunteer management.
- The Community Affairs VISTA will also assess and assist with Gift In-Kind intake and management.
- In addition, the VISTA member will conduct outreach to spread awareness of in-kind donations and volunteer programs.
