Organizational SummaryThe mission of the California Immigrant Policy Center (CIPC) is to uphold the humanity of immigrant communities in California by transforming systems to achieve racial, social, and economic justice. CIPC is a non‑partisan, non‑profit statewide organization engaging in advocacy, organizing, and strategic communications to uplift immigrant communities. CIPC was founded in response to the 1996 passage of federal immigrant and welfare laws that profoundly affected immigrants.
Today, CIPC advances inclusive policies that build a prosperous future for all Californians, using policy analysis, advocacy and capacity building.
Over the past 28 years, CIPC has led groundbreaking campaigns that have greatly expanded protections, as well as access to publicly‑funded services and programs, for California’s low‑income immigrant populations, including but not limited to the Safe and Responsible Driver Act, the TRUST and TRUTH Acts, CA Values Act, E‑Verify Bill, the Health for All campaign, California Earned Income Tax Credit (CalEITC), and One California, the largest investment in legal services protection in the country.
POSITIONSUMMARY
The Supervising Organizing Manager, Integrated Voter Engagement position is responsible for spearheading the development and implementation of CIPC's comprehensive organizing, voter engagement, and electoral strategy for expanding and protecting access to economic and social justice for immigrant communities. The Supervising Organizing Manager will lead the development of CIPC's integrated voter engagement and grassroots mobilization portfolio in close partnership with the executive, policy, government affairs, and communications teams and external coalition partners.
In addition to building out and implementing CIPC's organizing and voter engagement strategies, the Supervising Organizing Manager will also supervise and support staff on the Organizing team to lead strategic, multiyear electoral and issue‑based campaigns and diverse coalitions. The Supervising Organizing Manager is responsible for having deep subject‑matter expertise on voter engagement tactics, community organizing principles, and electoral strategy, communicating with diverse audiences (including diverse partners, community leaders, funders, and elected officials), and will track electoral developments, voter registration trends, and monitor implementation of civic engagement programs to understand their impact on immigrant communities in the state.
As a member of the management team, the Supervising Organizing Manager will also be responsible for ensuring a productive, supportive, and equitable work environment, and contribute to CIPC's organizational development.
This is a hybrid position based out of one of CIPC’s offices. A minimum of two in‑office days are required per week as well as a presence in campaign events, community forums, and voter engagement activities as necessary to meet the responsibilities of the role. Travel throughout California, and occasionally out of state, is necessary.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES- Manage the development, refinement, and execution of CIPC's integrated voter engagement portfolio including its day‑to‑day progress and long‑term electoral strategy, vision, and campaign plans.
- Support and supervise department staff, including the onboarding of all new staff and the mentorship, work plan development, and professional development of supervises.
- Manage major CIPC electoral campaigns, voter registration drives, GOTV operations, and issue‑based organizing campaigns, coordinating with Communications, Government Affairs, and Policy departments on cross‑departmental initiatives.
