About Shared Harvest Foundation
Shared Harvest Foundation is a 501(c)(3) social enterprise focused on community-based disaster response, capacity building, and workforce wellbeing. We mobilize and train a culturally responsive, community-based workforce to provide disaster relief and care coordination and provide capacity building and fiscal sponsorship for early stage non-profit organizations. Shared Harvest fosters financial security for changemakers through stipends, student loan debt relief, and paid apprenticeships.
Our tech-powered platforms address social determinants of health, building capacity across sectors. We ensure nonprofits have the tools, talent, and technology to thrive while promoting diverse voices on the front lines.
This is a part-time hybrid role located in Los Angeles, CA with some onsite, event presence requirement once a week. We are seeking a creative and strategic Marketing & Communications Director to oversee our brand visibility, outreach, and engagement efforts. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in storytelling, content development, and multi-channel marketing to amplify our mission and programs. This is a part-time, contracted opportunity ideal for a communications leader passionate about community impact and organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement marketing strategies that strengthen brand recognition.
- Involvement in podcast series marketing and development and sponsorship procurement.
- Ensure consistent messaging across platforms, materials, and campaigns.
- Lead the creation of compelling stories, campaigns, and materials to highlight program impact.
- Oversee digital and print content, including newsletters, blogs, and reports.
- Oversee social media team and newsletter team
- Develop measurable online community engagement presence and online engagement.
- Provide leadership and direction to digital campaigns for reach and impact.
- Cultivate media relationships to secure press and coverage opportunities.
- Prepare press releases, talking points, and public statements.
- Support leadership and program teams with communications strategies.
- Design and deliver presentations, reports, and donor-facing materials.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in marketing communications strategy, branding, and content creation.
- Strong background in storytelling, media relations, and digital communications.
- Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Based in Los Angeles or surrounding areas (preferred).
