Vice President, Corporate Communications
The Vice President of Corporate Communications will provide executive leadership as the strategic partner and number two to the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer. This highly visible role will oversee corporate communications functions across the company, including company‑wide communications, consumer public relations, corporate public relations strategies, nutrient‑related communications initiatives, media relations, crisis and issues management, executive engagement, and more.
This position is based in our West Los Angeles, CA office. We work a hybrid schedule with an in‑office requirement Monday‑Wednesday and the option to work remotely Thursday and Friday.
Job Description- Play an integral role managing and mentoring both Consumer PR and Nutrition Communications groups within the Corporate Communications Department, while also serving as a critical partner with and deputy to the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer on Corporate PR matters.
- Interface directly with The Wonderful Company owners representing the Department’s work.
- Shape the next level of innovation for communications initiatives, aligned with business objectives and brand priorities.
- Monitor trends, measure performance, and continuously identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Provide executive‑level counsel to leadership on messaging, reputation management, and communication opportunities and risks.
- Support the development and execution of annual public relations plans for The Wonderful Company’s portfolio of brands.
- Oversee PR budgets, negotiations, events, and health outreach programs that reinforce brand values and engagement.
- Foster external media relations efforts, including proactive storytelling, reactive inquiries, and relationship management with key reporters and media outlets.
- Lead crisis communication planning, preparedness, and real‑time response.
- Advise senior leadership and business units on risk mitigation and issues management.
- Manage South Pacific communications and PR work for FIJI Water in‑country (rugby partnership, ag initiatives, Career Center, and FIJI Water Foundation) as well as Neptune Pacific.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, public relations, or public affairs, including leadership roles in complex, matrixed organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in media relations, executive communications, crisis management, and integrated communications strategy.
- Experience leading large teams and collaborating with senior executives.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Strong business acumen, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate sensitive and high‑impact issues.
Compensation:
Up to $300,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills and experience.
