The UCLA Broad Stem Cell Research Center is seeking a curious, creative and enthusiastic individual to join its growing communications team as a Communications and Media Relations Manager.
Reporting to the Center’s Director of Communications, Marketing, Education and Outreach, the Communications Manager is a key contributor to the development and implementation of a broad range of strategic communications and outreach initiatives. A primary objective of this position is to drive the growth and success of the center by elevating its reputation both internally and externally. This will be accomplished through strategic media relations, social media, internal communications and multimedia storytelling that sparks curiosity and builds trust.
The center’s communications program translates complex scientific concepts into compelling content that demonstrates why this work matters for society. Doing this successfully requires a deep commitment to learning and the ability to contextualize research in a timely and/or culturally relevant fashion. In addition to drafting, editing, pitching and otherwise distributing content, this positioncampaignsiale collaborates with the Director to train scientists at all levels to be more effective communicators and to educate the public about the rapidly evolving field of stem cell research.
