Position: Manufacturing Engineer (Mechanical Focus)
Location: Sylmar, CA
Pay: $90,000 – $110,000/year
Experience:
- 2–5 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Strong hands-on aptitude with the ability to be hands-on and trainable.

Logic Staffing is seeking an Injection Molding Process Engineer to join our team!
Job Description- Analyze production workflows, cycle times, and material flow to support efficient injection molding operations and optimized equipment layouts.
- Troubleshoot process, quality, and equipment issues related to injection molding machines, molds, auxiliary equipment (dryers, chillers, conveyors), and material handling systems.
- Monitor part quality, identify defects (short shots, flash, sinks, warpage, burns, etc.), and implement corrective actions to maintain process control and product consistency.
- Adhere to all safety, environmental, and quality standards, including lockout/tagout, machine guarding, resin handling, and OSHA requirements.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues on injection molding machines and tooling; recommend and assist with repairs or component replacement.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, mold prints, process sheets, and rebuild procedures to support tooling changes, machine setup, and troubleshooting.
- Perform in-process and final visual inspections of molded parts to ensure dimensional accuracy, cosmetic quality, and compliance with specifications.
- Assist with mold changes, machine reassembly, alignment, and startup validation to ensure proper operation and production readiness.
- Perform preventative maintenance and 5S activities to maintain clean, organized, and safe molding work areas.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mold drawings, and engineering documentation.
- Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, percentages, and basic process data (scrap rate, cycle time, shot weight).
- Ability to follow written, verbal, and demonstrated instructions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance and working around industrial equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with basic understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and automated manufacturing systems.
- Ability to safely operate shop and production equipment, including drills, grinders, presses, band saws, forklifts, hoists, and electrically powered hand tools.
- Learn existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support process engineering activities, including workflow design, layout planning, and efficiency improvements.
- Perform hands-on mechanical troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with Production and Maintenance teams to ensure smooth, efficient operations.
