Overview

A lingerie, lounge and sleepwear company is seeking Fabric/ Trim Purchasing Assistant to join their team in Chatsworth! This will be a temp to hire role - fully onsite.

What You’ll Do
  • Maintain regular communication with overseas vendors and factories regarding development status, pricing, lead times, and production readiness to support on-time production.
  • Create purchase requisitions and issue raw material purchase orders (RMPOs).
  • Maintain and update raw material purchase order trackers on a daily basis.
  • Monitor purchase orders from placement through shipment, delivery to garment factories, and order completion.
  • Ensure order details, costs, and delivery dates align with production needs.
  • Monitor Time and Action (T&A) calendars to support on-time delivery of development and production samples.
  • Identify potential delays and work with the purchasing and production teams to resolve issues.
  • Support smooth material flow to garment factories to meet production schedules.
  • Coordinate with vendors, garment factories, and freight forwarders to arrange shipments under RMPOs.
  • Ensure shipping documents and sample deliveries are accurate and completed on time.
  • Track shipments and follow up on any delivery issues.
  • Work closely with purchasing, production, logistics, and quality teams to ensure clear communication and alignment.
  • Assist with weekly reporting by tracking order status and highlighting potential risks or delays.
  • Proactively communicate issues and support solutions as a team.
What You’ll Need
  • 4–5 years of related experience in fabric purchasing, sourcing, production coordination, or supply chain;
  • or a Bachelor’s Degree in Textile/Apparel, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong Excel skills, including maintaining spreadsheets and formulas accurately.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also managing individual responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Willingness to learn, take direction, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
