Overview
The Production Planner Coordinator is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating production activities to ensure the efficient and timely processing of seafood products. This role involves working closely with production, procurement, quality assurance, and logistics teams to maintain optimal inventory levels, reduce production costs, and ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
Compensation$70-$85K
ScheduleSunday - Thursday 6 AM
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and inventory levels.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure the availability of raw materials, packaging, and other necessary supplies.
- Monitor production workflow and adjust schedules to meet customer demand and minimize downtime.
- Oversees off-site production planning team’s activities for accurate and efficient scheduling.
- Collaborate with quality assurance and production teams to ensure product quality and consistency.
- Track inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Communicate production plans and changes to relevant departments, including warehouse, logistics, and sales.
- Prepare production reports and performance metrics to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify and resolve production issues, including equipment downtime, labor shortages, and supply chain disruptions.
- Support the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance production efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or coordination, preferably in a seafood, food manufacturing, or distribution environment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in production planning software, Microsoft Excel, and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, cold environment.
- Knowledge of seafood handling, processing, and quality standards is a plus.
