What you’ll get to do:

  • Uses predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications to inspect visually in-process and completed products such as electronic units and subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies or mechanical units, subassemblies, structural flaws, internal defects, and missing welds.
  • Uses various measuring devices.
  • Accepts, rejects, or reworks defective or malfunctioning units or systems.
  • Works from blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawing or inspection instructions and checklists. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
  • Performs line clearances after each lot to ensure all materials from the previous lot have been removed.
  • Performs visual inspection of hand soldered and SMT electrical assemblies to J-STD-001 at a proficient level.
  • Reads blueprints and assembly instructions to determine inspection activities.
  • Performs inspections with hand tools (calipers and micrometers) to determine part conformance.
  • Performs reviews of internal and external documents for completion and accuracy.
  • Maintains a working relationship with quality engineering staff to determine product conformity.

The ideal candidate must be able to communicate written and verbally, pay attention to detail, and be knowledgeable of inspecting electrical and electronic equipment.

Basic Qualifications for the Inspector 3
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent with 4 years of experience in an inspection related field.
  • U.S Citizenship required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • J-STD Training or experience.
  • Experience inspecting electrical and/or electronic equipment.
  • IPC-A-610/620 Training or experience.
  • Experience reading engineering drawings.
  • Torque Training or experience.
  • Experience working in an ESD (electrostatic discharge) environment.
  • PPE experience.
  • SAP experience.
  • Experience with decision making process.
  • Active Secret Clearance.
Salary and Benefits

Primary Level Salary Range: $56,000.00 - $93,400.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
