Production Fabricator

Job Function

The Production Assistant s role is to identify materials, resources, equipment and load material into production equipment, verify product specs with equipment settings, monitor the equipment as it operates, monitor the process-pace/productivity, and recognize when something is out of adjustment. This role also includes manufacturing, configuring, packing and prepping orders for shipments.

Duties

• Production:
• Vinyl laydown first and second surface, weeding, taping, laminating.
• Assembly and wiring of LED pricers.
• Fabrication of sheet metal.
• Painting.
• MIG, TIG, and Stick Welding.
• Use of all machinery and tools in fabrication.
• Maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Cleanliness of shop.
• Storing of fabrication/production materials to Promotion Plus standards.
• Knowledge of packaging and shipping.
• Daily production meeting with Supervisor to review work orders with set time frames.
• Able to maintain material inventory list.
• Able to open design software and send files to Large Format Printer, Vinyl Plotter, Laminator and Router.
• Able to operate the Large Format Printer, Vinyl Plotter, Laminator and Router.
• Able to maintain a daily loss report and bring up solutions to avoid that type of loss in future jobs.
• Able to create basic production files in Corel Draw & Flexi Sign.
• Maintain on time completion & accuracy ratio above 90%.

Administrative

• Prepare Production Department Vital Factor Report for Friday Department & Monday Operations Meeting.
• Retrieve Work Orders and ensure completeness.
• UL label application.

Ability To

• Work independently with little direction.
• Adapt to change easily and quickly respond to changing assignments, work settings and priorities.
• Operate large trucks to deliver materials to job locations.
• Assess current practices and present improved systems to upper management.

Physical Demands

• Requires the ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, finger, grasp, talk, hear and repeat motions.
• Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Requires to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
• Exposure to environmental conditions. Activities occurring inside and outside.
• Exposure to noise. There may be sufficient noise to cause the need to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
• Exposure to hazards. Includes variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
• Subject to atmospheric conditions. Fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation may affect the respiratory system or skin.
