Our client, a leading apparel company with a diverse portfolio of licensed and in‑house brands, is seeking a Production Manager to oversee all aspects of import production, off-price programs, and large‑scale order management. This role is ideal for a seasoned production professional who excels in vendor management, problem‑solving, and driving products from development through delivery with accuracy and speed.
About the RoleThe Production Manager will manage a global vendor base, ensure compliance with brand/licensing standards, support costing negotiations, and partner closely with design, merchandising, and sales. This is an onsite, five‑day‑per‑week position within a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead full‑cycle production for both licensed brands and in‑house private‑label lines.
- Manage all import production—from sampling and approvals through bulk delivery.
- Oversee off-price programs, ensuring cost‑effective production while meeting margin and quality requirements.
- Maintain and manage T&A calendars, ensuring all milestones are met and communicated cross‑functionally.
- Partner closely with design, tech, sales, and planning to ensure product accuracy and on‑time execution.
- Work directly with overseas factories to resolve fit, quality, fabric and trim issues.
- Review and approve lab dips, strike-offs, TOP samples and bulk approvals.
- Manage cost negotiations and support margin targets in collaboration with leadership.
- Monitor WIP reports, capacity planning and bulk production status.
- Ensure all licensed product meets brand guidelines, testing standards and compliance requirements.
- Identify risks and proactively problem‑solve to keep production on track.
- Support process improvement initiatives across the production department.
- 5–8 years of apparel production experience, ideally across multiple categories.
- Expertise in import production and overseas factory management (Asia, India, Central America).
- Strong understanding of costing, timelines, compliance, testing and bulk production processes.
- Experience working with licensed brands and adhering to licensor requirements.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and efficient in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines at once.
