The Hotel General Manager will provide visionary and hands‑on leadership for a hotel in Puerto Rico undergoing a strategic transformation to a 5‑star luxury property. This executive will be fully accountable for all operational, financial, and commercial aspects of the hotel while leading a comprehensive renovation and brand‑elevation initiative aligned with Forbes Travel Guide standards.
The ideal candidate is a dynamic, decisive, and highly visible leader with proven luxury resort experience in the Caribbean, a strong operational background, and a commanding presence capable of driving cultural excellence, service refinement, and financial performance. High visibility with ownership and direct impact on the long‑term success of the resort.
Qualifications- Fluent in Spanish and English (mandatory).
- Proven experience as a General Manager or Hotel Manager in a luxury resort environment.
- Demonstrated Forbes Travel Guide hotel experience (rated or actively operating at Forbes standards).
- Prior hotel/resort experience in the Caribbean strongly preferred.
- Proven success leading hotel renovations, repositioning projects, or luxury upgrades.
- Highly hands‑on, operationally driven leader with a strong, confident, and decisive personality.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to inspire teams and engage with high‑net‑worth guests.
- Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and disciplined financial management skills.
- Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a complex, high‑expectation environment.
- Provide strong, hands‑on leadership across all hotel departments, setting a culture of excellence, accountability, and luxury service delivery.
- Act as a highly visible presence throughout the resort, engaging with guests, associates, and stakeholders daily.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high‑performing executive team aligned with 5‑star luxury and Forbes service standards.
- Lead and oversee the renovation, repositioning, and upgrading of the resort to achieve 5‑star luxury and Forbes Travel Guide recognition.
- Collaborate closely with ownership, asset managers, architects, designers, contractors, and consultants to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to brand standards.
- Ensure minimal disruption to guest experience during renovation phases while maintaining operational excellence.
- Full P‑L responsibility, including budgeting, forecasting, cost controls, and revenue optimization.
- Drive strong GOP performance while balancing luxury standards, service excellence, and capital investment requirements.
- Partner with Sales & Marketing to position the resort competitively within the Caribbean luxury market.
- Champion a guest‑centric culture focused on personalized, anticipatory service consistent with Forbes and 5‑star benchmarks.
- Lead quality assurance programs, service training, and continuous improvement initiatives to elevate guest satisfaction and brand reputation.
- Actively manage guest feedback, online reputation, and Forbes assessment readiness.
- Ensure full compliance with U.S., Puerto Rico, and brand regulatory requirements.
- Maintain strong relationships with ownership, local authorities, unions (if applicable), and community partners.
