A growing real estate investment and development firm is seeking an Asset Manager to support its affordable housing portfolio. Reporting to the Director of Asset Management, this role is responsible for overseeing the financial, operational, and compliance performance of assigned assets. - Review monthly property financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and variance analyses, to support internal and external performance reporting
- Monitor compliance with applicable affordable housing regulatory requirements, partnership agreements, and financing documents
- Evaluate property performance, valuation metrics, market conditions, and operational drivers to inform asset-level strategies
- Partner with development, construction, and property management teams to provide operational and financial insights throughout the asset lifecycle
- Support due diligence related to acquisitions, recapitalizations, and dispositions
- Lead regular asset reviews and site visits with property management teams; identify issues and implement corrective action plans
- Review and monitor contracts including management agreements, leases, and vendor agreements to ensure compliance and protect ownership interests
- Coordinate strategies related to insurance claims and tenant legal matters when required
- Conduct periodic property inspections
- 3 years of experience in affordable asset management, including working knowledge of affordable housing regulatory frameworks
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to travel up to 5% annually for site visits
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, or a related field
- Prior asset management experience on the General Partner side
- Strong financial analysis skills with the ability to interpret operating statements and variances
- Understanding of real estate accounting principles and financial reporting
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex documents including leases, contracts, loan documents, and regulatory agreements
- Familiarity with industry-standard property management and accounting systems
- Experience supporting acquisitions, dispositions, or recapitalizations
- Experience operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
