Job Summary
The General Manager (GM) is the P&L owner and primary leader for the operational success of a Bird region. The GM sets ongoing strategy to maximize revenue and city profitability by ensuring vehicles are in the right places to maximize revenue while maintaining a focus on the bottom line. This role oversees in-region KPIs and leads or contributes to cross-functional strategy work groups to improve operational capabilities.
It is a leadership role focused on achieving business outcomes, fostering city relationships, regulatory success for Bird, and developing direct reports.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team with at least five direct reports and 50+ indirect reports to drive forecasted goals and positive business outcomes for designated markets; provide routine feedback and development.
- Act as key decision maker for the book of business, driving topline revenue growth and bottom-line profitability targets.
- Strategic leader for city stakeholder relationships, front-line staff, and partners to achieve optimal Bird outcomes.
- Lead or influence cross-functional sprints and special projects across hardware, product, supply chain, inventory, growth, customer experience & support, government relationships, and sales.
- Operate with empathy to lead all roles reporting to the GM, focusing on customer experience, regulatory compliance, utilization and growth, and inventory management.
Must Haves
- Bachelor’s degree or work history demonstrating leadership, operations/systems management, and P&L management.
- 7+ years of experience in operations, strategy, or supply chain.
- 5+ years of people management experience.
- Proven ability to lead and influence in a cross-collaborative environment.
- Data-driven decision-making with the ability to translate data into action.
- Required Travel: 25% within the Southwest US.
Highly Desired
- Asset management: experience managing large-scale physical inventories or distributed hardware networks.
- Industry expertise in micromobility, logistics, or transportation-as-a-service.
- Operational leadership: track record leading teams and executing complex tasks in fast-paced environments.
- Business acumen: MBA or proven history of building and scaling ventures.
Target Hiring Salary Range $130k-$150k
