Service Technician

The successful candidate will provide technical support to external/internal customers; set up, maintain, troubleshoot, optimize and repair injection molding systems. They will provide guidance and work with other team members, and act as a mentor and guide for the team when needed.

• Troubleshoot and make corrections as required to all control systems including hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, electrical and electronic systems and programmable controls
• Calibrate machines to achieve optimum performance and set up and maintain machines
• Provide system setup and startup support for all Husky equipment
• Develop an organized approach to solving machine problems using manuals, drawings and procedures
• Repair and/or replace any component on machine, robot, product handling equipment and mold as required
• Develop and maintain superior customer relations
• Coordinate and liaise with internal resources to ensure effective customer service
• Instruct service technicians and/or customer operators on the maintenance and safe operation of injection molding systems
• Communicate with Call Center/SIF Team/Spare Parts Centers to resolve field problems
• Provide regular written reports to the Service Team Leader
• Arrange for the return of parts to Spare Parts Center
• Perform all tasks required by the team leader

• Knowledge of blueprints and schematics to troubleshoot electrical/electronic, hydraulic and mechanical systems
• Knowledge of plastic processing and injection molding process
• Ability to troubleshoot problems systematically
• Mechanical, electrical and hydraulic system assembly knowledge
• Knowledge of plastics such as PET, Polypropylene, Polyethylene, and Styrene
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong customer service orientation
• Tact and diplomacy in handling difficult customers
• Demonstrated initiative and a positive attitude
• Dedicated team player
• Travel willingness due to extensive travel required

• Post-secondary education in technical or engineering-related studies
• 10+ years of injection molding equipment maintenance and troubleshooting or related experience

Pay Range: $35 - $45/hour
