The Environmental Services Floor Care Technician is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the medical center and its outlying buildings in order to provide a clean, sanitary and attractive environment for patients, visitors and employees. The technician must work collaboratively with the Hospitality Center and Patient Care Center.

• Determine accurate equipment and supplies needed for performing job duties.
• Strip and wax, scrub and recoat floors.
• Vacuum and shampoo carpets.
• Buff and maintain hard floors.
• Keep equipment clean and in good condition.
• Report immediately to his/her assignment in accordance with the workflow.
• Remove any equipment vital prior to the start of your task.
• Mop the floor for any loose debris and remove any gum residue.
• Use chemicals crafted for equipment.
• Use accurate chemical dilution ratios by following manufacturer’s specifications.
• Ensure no residue is left on baseboards, kick plates or stainless‑steel surfaces.
• Use caution signs or caution tape appropriately when performing any work that can result in personal injury.
• Remove trash and mop floors as advised.
• Report the need for maintenance repairs to the Hospitality Center.
• Report equipment repairs by following department procedures.
• Communicate with customers in a positive and professional manner, making contact on a routine basis and working closely with Supervisor to improve customer service.
• Practice standard precaution and accurate infection control.

• One (1) year floor care experience.
• Two (2) years cleaning experience in a hospital, school or hotel highly preferred.
