Whatwill you be doing in this role?
The Environmental Services Floor Care Technician is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the medical center and its outlying buildings to provide a clean, sanitary, and attractive environment for patients, visitors, and employees. The technician must work collaboratively with the Hospitality Center and Patient Care Center.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Determines accurate equipment and supplies needed to perform job duties
- Strip and wax, scrub and recoat floors
- Vacuum and shampoo carpets
- Buff hard floors and maintain them in good condition
- Keep equipment clean and in good condition
- Report immediately to assigned location in accordance with workflow
- Remove any equipment vital before starting a task
- Dust mop floors for loose debris and remove gum residue
- Use chemicals crafted for the equipment being used
- Follow manufacturer’s chemical dilution ratios accurately
- Ensure no residue is left on baseboards, kick plates, or stainless-steel surfaces
- Use caution signs or caution tape when performing tasks that may cause injury
- Remove trash and mop floors as advised
- Report maintenance repairs to the Hospitality Center
- Report equipment repairs by following department procedures
- Communicate with customers in a positive and professional manner and work with Supervisors to improve service
- Practice standard precautions and infection control
Work Experience:
- One (1) year floor care experience
- Two (2) years cleaning experience in a hospital, school, or hotel highly preferred
