Under the direction of the Automotive Pool Manager II or designee, the duties and responsibilities include:
- Operate and service passenger vehicles, trucks, small‑wheeled tractors, and similar motor equipment.
- Perform general laboring work, including instruction, leadership, or supervision of wards or resident workers.
- Operate, service, wash, and make minor adjustments and repairs to vehicles and equipment.
- Transport passengers and deliver laundry, food, furniture, freight, farm products, gravel, rubbish, and other materials.
- Perform miscellaneous manual labor and messenger service.
- Keep simple records and perform related work.
This is a fast‑paced position requiring a wide variety of assignments within a hospital setting.
Qualifications- Commercial driver license A or B with Passenger endorsement (valid California CDL). Provide CDL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements or restrictions.
- Permanent civil service status, or eligibility for inclusion on an employment list, transfer eligibility, or reinstatement eligibility.
- For those not meeting eligibility, completion of the required examination is required.
