Position: General Attorney (Appellate)

Overview

Join the dedicated appellate practitioners of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Office of the Principal Legal Advisor (OPLA) Immigration and Law Practice Division (ILPD) across the country and assist in shaping immigration law to protect our homeland. Responsibilities
  • Provide appellate-level legal analysis and support in immigration matters in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prioritize multiple assignments, exercise sound legal and practical judgment, and produce high-quality analyses of complex legal issues.
  • Take initiative and work in a reliable, decisive, and professional manner.
Qualifications / Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Active membership in good standing of the bar of a state, territory of the United States, the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and work effectively in real-time, high-profile settings.
  • Capacity to provide timely, practical legal analyses and recommendations.

  • Current or former political appointees:
    The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
