Overview

The Law Enforcement Operations Specialist will work under the supervision of the Sr. Director & Lead Paralegal, Law Enforcement & Regulatory Operations. We’re based in Dallas, TX with offices in Dallas, New York City, Los Angeles, and Tokyo.

The Law Enforcement Operations team plays a crucial role in maintaining the lawful and safe environment of our platforms. At the core, we strive to build trusted relationships with law enforcement partners across the globe.

Role Synopsis

In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and responding to legal requests such as subpoenas, search warrants, court orders, and emergency disclosure requests. We’re looking for someone that has excellent judgement, strong attention to detail, a firm understanding of legal frameworks, and has exceptional communication skills.

How you’ll make an impact
  • You will analyze, assess, prioritize, and respond to a variety of sensitive requests, including those from law enforcement and government agencies, subpoenas and search warrants, all within specified SLAs.
  • You have the ability to effectively and clearly communicate with diverse teams and regions, translating and conveying information accurately in both English and Japanese while remaining sensitive to cultural differences.
  • You will represent Match Group and its brands in clearly responding to legal process and policy questions from law enforcement, governmental agencies, and internal parties, both in writing and over the phone.
  • You will monitor legal inboxes for law enforcement and other inquiries and manage accordingly.
  • You will preserve account details from escalations for various Match Group brands.
  • You will exhibit operational excellence as part of a team handling a large volume of incoming requests.
  • You will work with cross-functional teams, including Match Group brands, trust & safety teams, privacy and litigation, in your response work and to identify improvements to standards and processes.
  • You will evaluate and respond to law enforcement requests in a manner consistent with the privacy and security of business and user information, in accordance with the law and Match Group's various policies and procedures.
  • You will exhibit meticulous attention to detail and maintain accuracy, adapting to the diverse legal and procedural requirements of various Match Group brands and markets. This role requires the ability to analyze and resolve complex challenges, leveraging internal networks as necessary, and developing proposed solutions for supervisory review and approval.
You might be a match if
  • You have at least three (3) years of high-volume legal and/or customer care support experience dealing with escalations, content moderation, litigation, safety and/or criminal issues, among others.
  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree and/or law office experience with knowledge of legal documents (civil and criminal subpoenas, court orders and search warrants) (a strong plus).
  • You have strong research and writing skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • You are comfortable learning and working with various software and technology (Kodex, Jira, PC, Mac, MS, Google Suite, online research, etc.).
  • You are comfortable interacting with content and fact patterns that may be disturbing, including but not limited to graphic images, videos and writings, offensive or derogatory language, child safety, and other potentially objectionable material.
  • You are comfortable engaging with law enforcement partners, conducting public presentations, and fostering strong, collaborative relationships.
  • You are fluent in English and Japanese as you will predominantly support Japanese-speaking countries, specifically Japan, as well as Taiwan and Korea. Proficiency in additional languages such as Korean and Mandarin Chinese is a strong plus.
  • You are committed to following Company processes and guidelines to solve problems and can exercise sound judgment within a demanding environment.
  • You can easily switch between tasks and effectively manage many projects simultaneously.
  • You can work occasional evenings and weekends as exigent cases that are time sensitive may require.
