Regulatory Compliance Specialist, Business Administration
At Smith Law, we represent employees who’ve been mistreated, silenced, or retaliated against. We’re a high-performance, systems-driven firm built on clarity, accountability, and results. Every case follows our proven “who, what, why, where, when” framework to move with precision and purpose.
We don’t hire people who need motivation; we hire people who create it. Our team operates with courage, clarity, and consistency — executing decisively, thinking strategically, and leading with accountability. Progress over perfection is our default.
The OpportunityWe’re looking for a 0-5th year attorney who thrives in structure, respects process, and executes with strategic intelligence. The right candidate will operate within our established systems, collaborate with a strong team, and deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes for our clients.
This is not a fit for someone who hesitates, over analyzes, or resists accountability. If you need constant direction, this won’t be your environment. But if you take ownership, act decisively, and execute with precision, you’ll thrive here.
Key Responsibilities- Manage employment cases focused on discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and whistle blower claims.
- Apply Smith Law’s methodology to move cases forward relentlessly — the train never stops until trial or settlement.
- Send demand letters within 10 days of retention, file complaints within weeks, and drive discovery, depositions, and mediation without delay.
- Handle both client-facing and internal case responsibilities, maintaining strong communication and organization throughout.
- Collaborate with team members to identify leverage points and move each case toward optimal resolution.
- Refine processes only after mastering existing systems and demonstrating consistent results.
We measure performance by results, consistency, and system adherence. Typical benchmarks include:
- Managing an active caseload of 25-35 matters.
- Sending demand letters within 10 days of retention and filing complaints promptly thereafter.
- Achieving average case resolution within 9–12 months.
- Driving continuous case movement until settlement or trial — no pauses, no waiting games.
- Proven ability to manage employment cases independently from intake through resolution. Will train for the right candidate
- Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
- California experience preferred; exceptional recent LLMs or attorneys with prior international practice may be considered if they demonstrate excellence, maturity, and adaptability.
- Years of experience are flexible; discipline, ownership, and results matter most.
- A results-driven culture that rewards clarity, courage, and consistency.
- Systems that empower execution and accountability.
- Leadership that values proactive thinkers who deliver, not theorize.
- A mission-driven firm built for survivors, not settlers.
If you’re driven, disciplined, and ready to run a process that never stops until justice is achieved, we want to meet you.
