Job Type: Contract to Hire, Full-Time, Onsite
We are seeking a skilled Litigation Assistant/Paralegal with at least 2+ years of experience in insurance defense, labor/employment, and/or general civil litigation defense to join a boutique firm in their Downtown Los Angeles Office. This is an onsite position offering a contract-to-hire opportunity with a dynamic and fast-paced legal team.
Responsibilities
- Organize and analyze documentary evidence, including medical records, reports, depositions, discovery, and investigative documents.
- Prepare case chronologies and summaries.
- Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery responses, correspondence, and reports.
- Manage subpoenas, requests for information, and document productions.
- Conduct legal research and investigations, including social media and internet research.
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts.
- Monitor case files, ensuring deadlines are met and escalating issues as needed.
- Handle sensitive case-related materials with discretion and professionalism.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal or legal assistant handling insurance defense, labor/employment, and/or general civil litigation defense matters.
- Experience managing subpoenas and discovery responses.
- Strong proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Excellent critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required;
Paralegal certificate is a plus.
