Direct Counsel is seeking a mid-level associate attorney to join a prestigious firm and their Mass Tort and Environmental team. This role involves handling complex, high-impact litigation, including large-scale tort claims, regulatory matters, and multi-party actions, in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
The ideal candidate will have exceptional research, writing, and oral advocacy skills. They must also be an analytical thinker and collaborative team member who thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure litigation environment.
Responsibilities- Manage a caseload of mass tort and environmental litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Conduct legal research and factual investigation related to environmental exposure and liability issues.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memoranda
- Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation
- Collaborate with partners, associates, experts, and support staff
- Communicate effectively with clients, co-counsel, and opposing counsel
- 3-10 years of litigation experience in mass torts, environmental law, toxic torts, or complex civil litigation
- Active license and in good standing with the State Bar of California
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Experience managing discovery and motion practice
- Effective time-management and prioritization skills in a deadline-driven environment
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative, team-based practice
- 3-10 years of litigation experience in mass torts, environmental law, toxic torts, or complex civil litigation
- Active license and in good standing with the State Bar of California
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Experience managing discovery and motion practice
- Effective time-management and prioritization skills in a deadline-driven environment
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative, team-based practice
- Salary: $300,000 - $500,000 based on experience
