Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented, tech-forward and proactive Paralegal to join our Legal and Business Affairs team at a leading player in the entertainment industry. The ideal candidate will support our attorneys and executives with a variety of legal, administrative, and research tasks, with a particular emphasis on intellectual property (IP) and contracts management. This role is an excellent opportunity for a motivated legal and business affairs professional passionate about entertainment, media and technology, contracts management, content protection and department operations.

Reports: This position will report to Chief Business Affairs & Legal Officer

Responsibilities

Intellectual Property, Copyrights & Trademarks

  • Assist with the preparation, filing, and maintenance of trademark applications
    , renewals, and registrations (domestic and international) and copyright registrations.
  • Monitor and track the company’s global IP portfolio
    , including trademarks, copyrights, and domain names.
  • Conduct trademark clearance searches and prepare reports summarizing results and potential conflicts.
  • Coordinate with external counsel, and copyright and trademark offices regarding filings, oppositions, and enforcement matters.
  • Maintain IP docketing systems and ensure all deadlines are met.

Entertainment Contracts & Business Affairs

  • Review, organize, and track contracts and deal memos related to talent, production, licensing, and distribution.
  • Assist with the drafting and redlining of standard agreements under attorney supervision.
  • Support contract execution, signature management, and document retention.
  • Conduct legal research on entertainment law, IP issues, and regulatory compliance.

Corporate Governance & Entity Maintenance

  • Assist in the maintenance of Skybound legal entities (both domestically and internationally), including entity formations and dissolutions, corporate records (e.g., organizational documents and minutes/resolutions), annual report and other statutory filings, and company organizational chart.
  • Support the development, implementation and oversight of compliance initiatives and corporate governance best practices.

General Legal Support

  • Prepare correspondence, memoranda, and internal reports for attorneys.
  • Manage databases and filing systems and ensure accuracy and confidentiality of legal documents.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (marketing, creative, production, etc.) to support business initiatives.
  • Assist with rights management and enforcement of unauthorized uses of company content and brands.
Requirements
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree required;
    Paralegal certification preferred.
  • Experience:

    Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a paralegal, ideally in entertainment, media, or IP law.
  • Knowledge/

    Skills:

    Strong understanding of copyrights and trademark law and IP processes.
  • Familiarity with entertainment contracts and rights management.
  • Strong interest in utilizing new technologies for operational efficiency.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with document management systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, creative environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in film, television, publishing, games, music, and/or digital media.
  • Knowledge of copyright registration procedures and rights clearance.
  • Prior in-house entertainment, games or studio experience.

Job Type: Regular, Full-Time

Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000
