Arent Fox Schiff LLP is seeking a trademark/copyright staff attorney to join its Los Angeles office. Our highly recognized intellectual property practice is looking for a smart, self-motivated trademark staff attorney to join our fast-paced and dynamic team in support of major national and international companies. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the area of trademark/copyright law, trademark/title clearance and opinion letters, international trademark/copyright portfolio maintenance, management, and enforcement, and due diligence/M&A.
Beneficial experience includes licensing and related transactions and working on entertainment/media, tech, social media, online services and consumer products. If you write very well, have sound judgment, can communicate effectively with clients, work well as a team member, have previous law firm experience, and want the potential to grow your career for the long term, please submit a resume, law school transcript, and a writing sample.
Provide trademark/copyright legal support in a fast-paced environment for major national and international clients.
Responsibilities include:
- Support of trademark/copyright practice with a focus on trademark/title clearance, opinions, international portfolio maintenance, management, and enforcement.
- Due diligence and M&A related activities.
- Experience with licensing and related transactions; work on entertainment/media, technology, social media, online services and consumer products as applicable.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams, communicate effectively, and contribute to a team-oriented firm culture.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in trademark/copyright law, trademark/title clearance, and related duties as described above.
- Experience with international portfolio maintenance, management, and enforcement; due diligence/M&A.
- Beneficial experience includes licensing and related transactions and work in entertainment/media, tech, social media, online services and consumer products.
- Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to work well in a team; prior law firm experience preferred.
- Ability to grow professionally and contribute to the firm over the long term.
The good faith base salary range for this position is a minimum of $160,000 to a maximum of $270,000 per year. The actual salary rate offered to candidates within that range will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, years of relevant experience, education, applicable bar admissions, and the candidate s overall qualifications for the position as assessed by the Firm.
In addition to a competitive base salary, we offer a comprehensive bonus system with opportunities for associates to receive: hours-based productivity bonuses, cash bonuses for business generation and expansion, and merit-based bonuses to recognize and reward outstanding performance and contributions ranging from $10,000-$200,000+.
