SalaryBase pay range: $89,485 – $94,477 per year.
Position DescriptionThis recruitment is intended only for current law school students within six months of graduation. All selected applicants will begin as part of a cohort, with the anticipated start date September 8, 2026. Priority consideration will be given to early applications.
About the CourtLos Angeles Superior Court is the largest unified trial court in the United States. The Court has an annual budget of more than $1 billion and employs more than 4,800 full‑time staff. Law Clerk Responsibilities- Conduct legal research and analyze motions.
- Prepare written recommendations and perform related duties as assigned.
Law clerks may be employed for a limited term of up to 30 months, with formal performance appraisals at the 12, 24, and 30 month anniversaries. Law clerks may not practice law, receive legal fees, or represent a party as counsel during employment. Outside employment must be approved in advance. Employment is “at will.”
Minimum Requirements- Current enrollment in a Juris Doctor program at an accredited law school, in good standing, and within six months of graduation.
- Proof of eligibility to take the California Bar Examination (if selected).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to conduct legal research independently and apply the law to facts.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with judicial officers and others.
- Ability to manage competing priorities effectively and meet deadlines.
