Deputy Sheriff-Lateral

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is seeking a Deputy Sheriff to perform general law enforcement duties, including protecting life and property, preserving law and order, and enforcing laws and regulations.

• Patrol designated areas to prevent and suppress crime
• Respond to calls for service, including emergencies and non-emergencies
• Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and make arrests as necessary
• Testify in court and provide courtroom security
• Perform community-based policing and engage in collaborative problem-solving

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must be a U.S. citizen or have the right to work in the United States
• Must possess a valid California driver's license
• Must have completed a basic law enforcement training program approved by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST)
• Must have two years of full-time, active law enforcement experience in a California POST-certified law enforcement agency

• Must be willing to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Must be willing to work overtime and consecutive shifts
• Must be willing to work in any location within Los Angeles County
