We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal to join our growing firm, working in-office.

The successful candidate will support our attorneys by performing a broad spectrum of legal services under their supervision.

Responsibilities include drafting legal documents, managing the firm's calendar, proactively working with attorneys to manage the caseload, and assisting with trial preparation.

If you have a strong desire to help others, can handle multiple cases simultaneously, and have at least 5 years of experience as a paralegal in personal injury law, we would like to meet you.

Job Duties

  • Timely and accurately e-file legal documents with federal and state courts, adhering to local rules and guidelines.
  • Prepare and organize legal documents such as pleadings, subpoenas, discovery requests and responses, briefs, and trial-related documents including witness lists, exhibits, jury instructions, and trial binders.
  • Ensure our attorneys' calendars are accurate and assist with court appearances, depositions, mediations, client meetings, and other litigation matters.
  • Organize and maintain case files on Case Peer and Dropbox, ensuring information is accessible and up-to-date.
  • Assist with expert designations and discovery by scheduling, organizing files, and coordinating depositions.
  • Coordinate with clients and medical providers to ensure appropriate treatment.
  • Assist during trial with exhibits, witness scheduling, and expert coordination.
  • Work with accounting to document and ensure timely payment of case costs.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with clients, attorneys, and medical providers.
  • Strong research skills relevant to personal injury cases.
  • Attention to detail for accurate documentation.
  • Organizational skills for managing caseloads and deadlines.
  • Understanding of medical terminology and e-filing procedures for courts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, case management, and document management software like Case Peer.
  • Empathy and support skills for clients dealing with trauma.
  • Problem-solving skills to resolve issues and advance cases.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field, or a paralegal certificate preferred.
  • Spanish speaking skills are a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, in-office environment.
