Position Overview: The Associate Attorney will work closely with senior attorneys and clients to manage general liability cases, including complex civil matters, product liability, toxic tort, government liability, and commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to handle a diverse caseload effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Case Management: Handle a caseload of general liability matters, including personal injury, property damage, and other related claims from inception through resolution.

  • Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to provide legal advice, updates, and guidance throughout the case process.

  • Legal Research & Analysis: Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy and preparation. Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations.

  • Drafting Documents: Prepare and review legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.

  • Court Appearances: Represent clients in court appearances, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations. Prepare and argue motions, and conduct hearings.

  • Collaboration: Work with senior attorneys, paralegals, and other support staff to develop case strategies and ensure efficient case management.

  • Negotiation: Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and insurance adjusters to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with legal procedures and deadlines, and maintain accurate case files and records.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

  • Bar Admission: Admission to the CA Bar and in good standing.

  • Experience: [2-4] years of experience in general liability or related litigation practice. Experience handling personal injury or property damage claims is preferred.

  • Skills:

    • Strong analytical and research skills.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple cases and priorities.
    • Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software.
