Korean-English Interpreter

Overview

[WEBTOON] Korean-English Interpreter role  interpreter will support effective communication within a diverse team by translating written and spoken content for the Global CEO and stakeholders across the organization.

• Provide accurate interpretation services between Korean and English speakers, maintaining meaning, tone, and context.
• Conduct consecutive interpretation by listening to the speaker and delivering interpretation in the target language during pauses or appropriate intervals.
• Perform simultaneous interpretation during conferences or events.
• Familiarize yourself with upcoming assignments, conduct research, and prepare glossaries and materials to ensure accuracy.
• Understand both Korean and English cultures, customs, etiquette, and idiomatic expressions to convey messages appropriately.
• Adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines for interpreted conversations and documents.
• Uphold professionalism, ethics, and integrity while representing the organization and maintaining relationships with clients.
• Stay updated with industry trends, language developments, and subject matter to enhance interpretation skills.

• Native or near-native proficiency in Korean and English, with exceptional oral and written skills in both languages.
• Bachelor’s degree in Korean studies, linguistics, interpretation, translation, or related field preferred; relevant certifications are a plus.
• Ability to work in the Los Angeles office or onsite as required.
• High attention to detail; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Strong emotional, social, and cultural intelligence; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse backgrounds.
• Growth mindset; proactive about strategy, workflow, risk, and problem-solving; takes initiative and can prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel when necessary.

Compensation: $80,000 - $100,000 a year.
