We are seeking a Fiber Technician for a full-time position at our Van Nuys facility. The Fiber technician will assemble, maintain, test, and repair fiber optic cables. They will assist with all aspects of fiber optic cables and related equipment within the Fiber Department. The ideal candidate could be a person that has worked with Fiber in Broadcast or worked in the telecommunications industry.
We are seeking a person with 3-5 years work history working with Fiber optic cables and the wage will adjust to experience. Wage is $20-$35 per hour DOE.
This is an hourly position onsite Monday - Friday at our Van Nuys facility. There may be overtime as needed.
- Assemble, maintain, and repair fiber optic cables and connectors
- Perform testing of cable and equipment
- Test functionality of “house” fiber systems used with our equipment
- Skillset should include:
Single-mode / Multi-mode / LC/SC connectors / Splicing / cleaning
- Experience with an OTDR reader
- 3 - 5 years working with Fiber Optic Cables
- Prefer SMPTE experience
- Associates or Technical Degree preferred
- Prior experience working with broadcast equipment and technology desired
- Some travel may be required to show sites
