- Experience creating custom widgets and reusable front-end components within Big Commerce.
- Proficiency with Big Commerce’s Storefront Graph
QL API for dynamic and data-driven features. - Strong knowledge of the Big Commerce platform.
- Expertise in Big Commerce theme development and customization.
- Expert level knowledge of Big Commerce Stencil framework (handlebars, front matters etc).
- Comfort working with Storefront APIs and Stencil util-APIs.
- Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/ECMAScript 5/6.
- Expertise in JavaScript libraries (e.g., jQuery).
- A thorough understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues.
- Strong understanding of responsive web design techniques.
- Understanding of W3C web standards/semantics and accessibility guidelines.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Great attention to detail and a highly organized work style.
- A positive and upbeat attitude with the ability to learn quickly.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Big Commerce website development.
- Experience with Word Press, Magento, and Shopify (preferred).
- Experience with React
JS/Angular
JS (preferred). - Proficiency in PHP/MYSQL and AJAX (preferred).
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm PST.
- The ability to adapt to a diverse and multicultural environment.
- Big Commerce certification (preferred).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to clearly discuss ideas, technical concepts, and feedback.
- A proactive mindset and the ability to take initiative and ownership of your work.
- A reliable remote workstation setup including a fast computer, microphone and speakers, webcam, reliable internet, and power.
- Build custom widgets and components to enhance site functionality and user experience.
- Implement interactive and data-driven features using Big Commerce’s Storefront Graph
QL API. - Develop eCommerce sites on the Big Commerce platform.
- Develop custom Big Commerce themes.
- Migrate websites from other eCommerce platforms to Big Commerce.
- Extend Big Commerce functionalities using storefront APIs and Stencil util-API.
- Integrate third-party and platform-supported apps into sites.
- Set up payment integration, shipping methods, and taxes within the Big Commerce platform.
- Optimize page speed for Big Commerce Sites.
- Implement SEO/CRO best practices in Big Commerce sites.
- Upgrade sites from Blue Print to Stencil Framework.
- Transform complex PSD layouts into pixel-perfect presentation layer HTML5/CSS3 templates.
- Create responsive website designs.
- Work with version control systems such as GIT / SVN.
- Work effectively under tight deadlines.
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Produce high-quality work with a strong focus on detail.
- Communicate clearly and regularly with team leads, project managers, and designers to align on project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
- Take initiative in suggesting improvements, sharing feedback, and identifying opportunities to enhance workflows and project outcomes.

Compensation Disclosure:
Starting base pay for this position in California, New York, Washington, and Colorado ranges between $17 - $35 per hour. Compensation is variable based on factors including experience, qualifications, skills test performance, geographic location, and the seniority of the position offered. Compensation outside of California, New York, Washington, and Colorado may fall outside these specified ranges.
