About The Role
AVP Solutions, a merchant services provider based in Canoga Park, CA, is seeking a friendly, solution-oriented Customer Service / Technical Support specialist to join our team. You’ll support merchants with payment processing, POS hardware and software, and transaction troubleshooting while delivering excellent customer service across phone and online channels.
What You’ll Do- Serve as a primary point of contact for merchant inquiries, providing timely, professional phone and email support.
- Troubleshoot payment processing issues, point-of-sale hardware/software problems, and terminal connectivity for a diverse merchant base.
- Create clear troubleshooting steps, escalation notes, and technical documentation in contact management systems.
- Prepare written proposals, quotes, and assessments that address client needs and recommended solutions.
- Work closely with internal teams to engage with complex technical issues and ensure smooth resolution of service requests.
- Maintain accurate records in databases and follow established procedures for account changes and service setup.
- 1-2 years of bankcard, merchant services, or payment processing experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with professional phone etiquette.
- Proficient with Windows-based applications, spreadsheets, internet tools, and contact management software.
- Knowledge of point-of-sale hardware and software, payment terminals, and transaction flows.
- Comfortable learning product and service features quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to interpret and apply technical instructions, and to manage multiple calls and tasks simultaneously.
- Experience with the Pegasus database is a plus.
- Previous banking or financial services background is beneficial.
- Demonstrated time management, professionalism, and the ability to write clear reports and correspondence.
