A Day in the Life

The Senior Principal Integration Architect will focus on Enterprise Integration, ETL & Event Streaming | B2B & B2C | SAP, web Methods and Kafka. The Senior Principal Integration Architect is a strategic technology leader responsible for defining, governing, and evolving the enterprise integration and data movement architecture across complex B2B and B2C ecosystems. This role provides architectural leadership across API-led integrations, event-driven platforms, and ETL/data pipelines, with deep expertise in web Methods, Kafka, SAP Integration Suite (BTP), and enterprise ETL patterns.

The role partners closely with Enterprise Architecture, Data & Analytics, Security, Product, and Business leadership to enable scalable, reliable, and governed data and integration solutions supporting digital transformation, ERP modernization, analytics, and customer-facing platforms. This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronic s Diabetes business. Medtronic has announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic, subject to applicable information and consultation requirements.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

• Enterprise Integration & Data Architecture Strategy
• Define and own the enterprise integration and data movement reference architecture, including API-led integration
• Event-driven architecture (EDA)
• ETL / ELT data pipelines
• B2B/EDI integrations
• Hybrid cloud and on-prem data flows
• Drive the modernization of legacy ETL and point-to-point integrations into scalable, reusable, and event-enabled architectures
• Establish standards, patterns, and governance for both real-time and batch data integrations

Platform Leadership

Serve as architectural authority for:

• web Methods (Integration Server, Trading Networks, B2B/EDI, API Gateway)
• Kafka (event streaming, real-time data ingestion, pub/sub)
• SAP Integration Suite (BTP) (Cloud Integration, API Management, Event Mesh)
• Enterprise ETL frameworks and tools (batch and near–real-time)
• Design and govern high-volume, high-throughput data integrations, including:
• Transactional data
• Master data
• Analytical data feeds
• Lead platform rationalization, cost optimization, and performance tuning

ETL & Data Integration Architecture

Architect and govern ETL / ELT solutions supporting:

• Data warehouses and data lakes
• Reporting and analytics platforms
• Operational data stores
• Define patterns for:
  Batch vs near–real-time data movement
• Change Data Capture (CDC)
• Data transformation, enrichment, and validation
• Ensure data quality, lineage, and traceability across integration and ETL pipelines
• Partner with Data & Analytics teams to align integration architecture with data platform strategy

B2B & B2C Integration Enablement

Lead architecture for B2B integrations, including:

• EDI (X12, EDIFACT)
• Partner onboarding and certification
• Secure file-based and message-based data exchanges
• Enable B2C and external-facing integrations supporting:
• Digital channels (web, mobile, e-commerce)
• Real-time APIs and event streams
• Customer and partner data synchronization
• Ensure scalability, security, and SLA adherence for external data flows

ERP & Enterprise Systems Integration

Architect integrations for SAP S/4

HANA and ECC ecosystems

• Order-to-Cash
• Procure-to-Pay
• Finance and controlling
• Master data governance
• Align integration and ETL architecture with ERP transformation and data harmonization initiatives
