Description

Bay Cities has an exciting opportunity for an IT Manager at our Los Angeles, California Headquarters.

The IT Manager will oversee all infrastructure, systems, and Microsoft 365 environments, as well as lead automation and AI initiatives across the company. You will manage the IT infrastructure team, prioritize workload, and deliver projects that improve system reliability, user productivity, and operational intelligence.

This role requires strong technical and business skills—the ability to problem solve, plan strategically, and turn technology opportunities into measurable ROI. You will work directly with the CITO to execute the company’s modernization roadmap.

Infrastructure & Operations Leadership

• Manage day-to-day IT operations, infrastructure, and systems performance across all facilities.
• Oversee servers, networking, cloud connectivity, storage, and disaster recovery planning.
• Maintain enterprise uptime standards (>99%) and ensure proactive monitoring and escalation practices.
• Manage vendor and license relationships for cloud hosting, telecom, and hardware procurement.
• Microsoft 365 & Digital Workplace Administration
• Own the Microsoft 365 environment (Azure AD, Exchange Online, SharePoint, One Drive, Teams, Intune, Defender, and Loop).
• Architect and administer modern collaboration ecosystems—SharePoint Online, Teams, Loop, and Viva—to enable digital-first workflows.
• Lead integration of Copilot for Microsoft 365 across applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power BI, and Teams) to improve productivity and insight.
• Develop governance for data retention, permissions, and compliance across the M365 suite.
• Build, lead, or mentor a team that can support and continuously optimize the full Microsoft environment.

• Champion adoption of AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, and Claude to streamline workflows, enhance user support, and improve decision-making.
• Partner with leadership to design and deploy automation in Power Automate, n8n, and Power Shell to reduce manual workload.
• Identify and pilot new AI-driven use cases across departments (helpdesk automation, knowledge management, data summarization).
• Establish standards and training for AI usage, data privacy, and ethical guidelines.
• Work with the CITO to build the foundation for AI-assisted IT operations ("AIOps") and insight-driven system monitoring.

• Translate high-level goals into executable, ROI-driven project plans with timelines, budgets, and clear deliverables.
• Plan, scope, and deliver initiatives such as Intune rollout, infrastructure modernization, and collaboration platform upgrades.
• Create business cases for new technology outlining benefits, costs, and measurable ROI.
• Ensure strong communication and cross-departmental collaboration during all project phases.
• Lead and mentor IT technicians to drive accountability, responsiveness, and customer focus.
• Establish clear SLAs, performance metrics, and daily/weekly review rhythms.
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement through AI, automation, and modern IT practices.
• Provide training and coaching to elevate team skills across M365 administration and modern support methods.

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years in IT infrastructure and operations management, including 3+ years of people or project leadership.
• Deep technical experience in:
  • Microsoft 365 Administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, Defender, Loop, Viva)
  • Azure Active Directory / Entra  hybrid identity management
  • Windows Server, networking, and cloud infrastructure
  • SQL Server administration and troubleshooting
  • Automation & Scripting:
    Power Shell, Power Automate, or n8n
• Experience deploying and managing AI and Copilot integrations within enterprise environments.
