Who we seek:

BigID is seeking a customer‑facing, Solution Engineering team leader to the West region. Candidates should be focused on creating a strong team environment while enabling each SE to grow and contribute to the overall success of the territory. A minimum of 3 years in a previous leadership role(s) is required. Specialty in a technical or consultative position around security, privacy or governance is a plus.

We're looking for someone local to PDT for this role.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage and mentor a team of 3–6 Sales Engineers
  • Hire and retain the best talent from across the industry
  • Recognize and reward leadership, promoting team members along the defined career path.
  • Gather insights from customers, determine product gaps and work closely with PM/R&D to improve our products
  • Stay up to date with current and future market trends, competition and regulatory developments
  • Collect and share knowledge within the team
  • Determine training needs for overall team and individuals
  • Coach other team members where possible
  • Report on group activities and trends
  • Continuously review and improve our POC process with the goal of reducing our time to close and overall success
  • Generate and / or review post POC summary reports. Share findings and take action where needed
  • Continuously review and improve Demo flows / messaging
  • Expand quality and quantity of all pre‑sales collateral
  • Update demo env to showcase new product functionality, verticals and unique customer use cases
  • Maintain content of RFP answer libraries to reduce response times
  • Contribute to building Brand awareness
  • Coordinate our customer engagements closely with sales, support, services
  • Identify all potential areas of improvement (approach, process, execution) within presales
  • Review need for special tools or scripts that can make our life easier during POC's

What you’ll bring:

  • 5+ years of management experience
  • 10+ years industry experience in sales engineering or related experience
  • Relevant experience in one or more of the disciplines of data privacy, data security, or data governance
  • Prior experience in selling software to Fortune 500
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
  • Positive attitude, customer focus, and strong sense of ownership over customer results
  • Excellent customer‑facing communication and organization skills
  • Ability to describe complex technical concepts to diverse audiences: executives, business stakeholders and technology practitioners
  • Passion for demonstrating solutions and ability to provide technical input during the sales process
  • Some prior experience with one or more of the following: RDBMS systems, no‑SQL data‑stores (Mongo
