Department Summary
As a member of SSCERT, responsible for user support for Faculty, Staff and Students for the Economics Department. Duties include but are not limited to management of the instructional computing lab, hardware and software installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance, Faculty and Staff consultation and training, and Network troubleshooting and maintenance of the department's web server and for all other instructional computing support.
PositionSummary
As a member of SSCERT, responsible for user support for Faculty, Staff and Students for the Economics Department. Duties include but are not limited to management of the instructional computing lab, hardware and software installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance, Faculty and Staff consultation and training, and Network troubleshooting and maintenance of the department's web server and for all other instructional computing support.
This is a full-time, on-site position based in the UCLA Department of Economics.

Qualifications- Experience supporting Windows 11, MacOS, and Linux systems, including setup, troubleshooting, and updates. (Required)
- Knowledge of network configuration and troubleshooting for wired, wireless, and VPN environments. (Required)
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and other enterprise tools. (Required)
- Knowledge of and experience in installing, maintaining, upgrading, and repairing computer hardware and peripherals for a large user base. (Required)
- Experience with web design and content management systems (e.g., Word Press) and awareness of campus-wide computing services. (Required)
- Knowledge of current hardware, software, and endpoint management technologies (e.g., Intune, Jamf). (Required)
- Experience developing workflow automations using tools such as Qualtrics or Microsoft Power Automate. (Preferred)
- Familiarity with AI and large language model (LLM) platforms (e.g., OpenAI GPT, Microsoft Copilot) and their applications in IT support. (Preferred)
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for resolving complex technical problems. (Required)
- Proven ability to work independently, set priorities, and follow through on multiple projects with minimal supervision (Required)
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, including the ability to train and support non-technical users. (Required)
- Demonstrated ability to build cooperative relationships, communicate clearly in writing, and supervise student computing assistants. (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree in related area and / or equivalent experience /training (Required)
