About the Team

The Finance Platform & Technology team at OpenAI builds and scales the future‑proof systems and data architecture that power our core financial operations. We enable business agility, compliance, and operational excellence across quote‑to‑cash, procure‑to‑pay, inventory, and asset management for both B2B and B2C. Our focus is on modernizing workflows through strategic integrations, scalable automation, and seamless data flows empowering smarter decisions, reliable reporting, and sustainable growth as OpenAI evolves

About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Manager, Supply Chain Process Transformation to own how OpenAI’s Data Center and Manufacturing supply chains operate at scale across planning, sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, deployment, and financial settlement.

This role owns how work flows through the supply chain, not just the tools. You will be accountable for transforming manual and vendor‑driven execution into standardized, automated, system‑driven operations across Contract manufacturing, Direct procurement, Inventory and logistics, Data center deployment, Financial and compliance controls.

You will serve as the process architect and execution leader for how OpenAI plans, buys, builds, tracks, and pays for physical infrastructure globally. You will lead the transition from spreadsheet‑based, vendor‑managed execution to ERP‑grade, system‑of‑record workflows that support high‑volume, capital‑intensive, and globally distributed operations.

This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who has built and scaled real‑world supply chains across data centers, contract manufacturing, and hardware programs—and knows how to embed those operations into modern ERP and planning platforms.

This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We operate on a hybrid model (three days per week in the office) and offer relocation assistance.

End‑to‑End Operating Model
  • Define how planning, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and finance connect into a single, controlled system of record

  • Replace fragmented handoffs and spreadsheets with standardized, system‑native workflows

  • Establish global process standards across regions, suppliers, and internal teams

Process Transformation at Scale
  • Replace manual and exception‑driven execution with automated, auditable processes

  • Build closed‑loop execution across supplier commits, production status, logistics events, and financial posting
Define and enforce global operating standards for suppliers, regions, and internal stakeholders

Execution & Leadership
  • Drive continuous improvement of supply chain operations using Oracle Fusion Supply Chain and integrated platforms

  • Lead cross‑functional execution across Data Center Operations, Hardware Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and external partners

  • Serve as the go‑to leader for how supply chain processes scale as OpenAI grows

  • Represent OpenAI’s Enterprise Platform Team in supplier and contract‑manufacturer integrations

System Ownership
  • Translate operational reality into ERP‑grade workflows across procurement, planning, manufacturing, logistics, inventory, order management, and PLM

  • Partner with Supply Chain Systems, Finance Systems, and Data Engineering to deliver One source of truth, End‑to‑end traceability, Automated financial and compliance controls

  • Eliminate black‑box execution by driving real‑time visibility and accountability through upstream and downstream system integrations (e.g., ERP, Anaplan)

Operational Excellence
  • Ensure processes and systems meet security, data governance, and regulatory requirements

  • Establish change management, testing, and control frameworks to support stable releases and business continuity

  • Drive automation and scalability using AI‑first design principles

We’re looking for someone with:

  • 12+ years of experience in supply chain systems, including 5+ years in leadership roles

  • APICS or equivalent SCM certification

  • Proven success leading ERP or large‑scale supply chain transformations

  • Deep data center and hardware supply chain expertise (planning, procurement, PLM, manufacturing, order management)

  • Experience operating in fast‑growing, globally distributed environments

  • Strong background in system integration, data…
