IT Project Manager – ERP & Business Systems

Base pay range$75,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr
Role OverviewWe are seeking a highly capable IT Project Manager – ERP & Business Systems to lead, stabilize, and continuously improve core technology platforms for a growing, founder‑led organization. This role is ideal for a hands‑on systems leader who enjoys owning complex environments, working directly with data, and driving pragmatic solutions in a fast‑paced setting.
This is not a purely administrative project management role. The successful candidate will be deeply involved in ERP functionality, reporting, data analysis, and coordination with offshore development teams.
Key Responsibilities ERP & Business Systems (Approximately 60%)- Own and stabilize the ERP environment (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central)
- Lead ongoing ERP enhancements, fixes, and optimizations in partnership with an offshore development team
- Translate business requirements into clear, actionable technical specifications
- Review development estimates and ensure solutions align with business priorities
- Identify data gaps, governance issues, and reporting inconsistencies within the ERP
- Build Power BI dashboards and/or write SQL queries independently to support operational and financial reporting
- Lead the migration from proprietary modules to native ERP functionality
- Manage website and e‑commerce enhancements in collaboration with external development agencies
- Coordinate requirements, timelines, and deliverables across internal and external stakeholders
- Support office expansion and IT infrastructure initiatives
- Lead additional technical projects as business needs evolve
- 5–10 years of experience in IT project management, ERP systems, or business systems roles
- Hands‑on experience with at least one major ERP platform (Dynamics 365, Net Suite, SAP, Oracle, Epicor, or similar)
- Strong data and reporting capabilities, including writing SQL queries to extract and analyze ERP data
- Experience managing offshore or outsourced development teams (India or similar)
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle
- Demonstrated ability to improve or remediate poorly implemented ERP systems
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
- Ability to work autonomously, manage shifting priorities, and deliver practical solutions efficiently
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Business Central certifications
- Power BI Data Analyst or similar data certification
- PMP or other project management certification
- Experience in manufacturing, fashion, jewelry, distribution, or e‑commerce environments
- Ability to build reports and dashboards independently without relying on developers
- Comfort operating in environments without a large, fully built IT organization
- Strong judgment balancing speed and quality, knowing when “good enough” is the right call
- Confidence managing ambiguity and driving solutions from concept through execution
- A purely administrative or meeting‑only project management role
- A large‑enterprise environment with highly siloed teams
- A position suited for perfectionists who struggle to deliver pragmatic, timely solutions
