CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) pay range may vary based on skills and experience. Base pay range: $80,000.00 - $ per year.
This role focuses on evaluating, enhancing, and maintaining large‑scale network infrastructure (wired and wireless) and related hardware & software. Responsibilities include evaluating current networks, designing and implementing improvements, consulting on necessary hardware/software, and testing and security assessments. The position interfaces with state and local government personnel, internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, and vendors.
Skills and Attributes for Success- Operate and manage NPS network infrastructure
- Improve infrastructure monitoring and reporting capabilities
- Develop, maintain and deliver infrastructure documentation for the NPS environment
- Review best practices and recommend architecture, design, and operation improvements
- Administer Cloudpath onboarding, monitor wireless health, maintain infrastructure, implement security patches from 0800 to 1700 PST, Monday‑Friday
- Assess NPS network for improvement and optimization
- Define and conduct testing procedures for new projects
- Implement technology solutions within the NPS environment
- Provide design guidance on network solutions within NPS projects
- Provide informal training and knowledge transfer on best practices and theory of operation
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Information Systems or related discipline
- Strong documentation skills (JIRA Tickets, Wiki Pages, Network Diagrams)
- Ability to communicate with end users, cross‑organizational staff and technical assistance center
- CWNA Certification or equivalent
- BCNE Certification or equivalent
- Experience with RF site survey tools (Ekahau, RF scanners, Wireshark)
- Knowledge of layer 2 switching and layer 3 routing protocols (VLANs, 802.1w, OSPF, VRRP)
- Network security knowledge (802.1x, MAC Authentication, ACLs, RADIUS, Certificate Authority)
- Troubleshooting RF and LAN issues
- Working knowledge of Linux, MS Server 2013, VMware
- Master’s Degree (preferred)
- 3+ years disaster recovery plan experience
- Experience with penetration testing, vulnerability assessment
- Experience with cyber threat information collection and analysis
- Working knowledge of Agile/SCRUM project management
