- Direct the development and implementation of the District’s information technology infrastructure strategies.
- Identify new and emerging technology products and ensure successful implementation with minimal disruption.
- Architect, implement, and manage the District’s technology infrastructure to support schools and offices.
- Validate infrastructure requirements for software applications.
- Establish network and data center technology policies and standards.
- Direct technical reviews of IT projects.
- Advise the Chief Information Officer on complex technology projects and initiatives.
- Collaborate with executive leadership and the Project Management Office on standards, evaluations, and prioritization.
- Develop technology contingency and disaster recovery plans.
- Ensure high availability of infrastructure services through capacity planning.
- Direct the development of the IT infrastructure roadmap and refresh strategy.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, or related field.
• Master’s degree in management information systems, computer science, business, or public administration is highly preferable.
• Six years of executive or senior‑level experience managing IT infrastructure architecture for a large organization (≥10,000 employees).
• Three years of experience in program/project management, network operations, and server/storage management.
• Preferred:
Executive or management‑level data center experience.
- Valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle in California.
- May be required to travel across the District.
- Senior Management classification.
- May be called at any hour.
- May be subject to the District’s Conflict of Interest Code.
- Advanced knowledge of IT infrastructure architecture, data center operations, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
- Expertise in enterprise architecture, telecommunications (VoIP, converged systems), and small‑medium enterprise solutions.
- Proficiency with Active Directory, GPO, virtualization, BMC, MDM, MPLS, and related technologies.
- Strategic forecasting and long‑term planning for technology infrastructure needs.
- Executive-level project and portfolio management, risk management, and budgeting.
- Strong personnel practices, training, and employee relations skills.
