Compensation Range: $85,000 - 90,000 annually (plus bonus)
Location: N. Hollywood, CA
Responsible for the effective management of timely and accurate payroll processing within a fast-paced industry/environment. Role will ensure compliance with all payroll regulations and internal policies across multiple entities and geographies.
- Oversee daily payroll operations and manage a Payroll Coordinator
- Partner with HR to process and oversee payroll across multiple companies and pay groups using weekly and semi-monthly schedules
- Serve as the primary POC for employee payroll inquiries; resolve complex payroll issues
- Ensure integrity and full utilization of payroll and timekeeping systems
- Maintain compliance with wage and hour laws and internal policies related to timekeeping, PTO, and paid leave
- Maintain payroll workflows and documentation within a SOX internal controls environment
- Provide support and guidance for international offices (to include Mexico and Brazil)
- Manage relationships with third-party payroll vendors and government agencies, including new location setup when needed
- Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll regulations, with strong knowledge of California, Florida and New York requirements
- Oversee reconciliation of payroll taxes, employee pay discrepancies, quarterly and annual balancing, and audits
- Provide accurate payroll data to Accounting and HR for reporting (PTO accruals, 401(k), FSA/HSA, ACA, W-2s, 941s, workers’ compensation codes)
- Support quarterly and year-end processes, audits, and requests from internal teams and external agencies
Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive payroll experience (including at least 2 years of supervisory experience)
- Experience processing payroll for 150+ employees with multi-state exposure
- Experience with ADP PEO systems and HRIS platforms strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of payroll and accounting concepts
- Experience managing payroll teams in a fast-paced or evolving environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a high level of professionalism
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and work effectively in a team environment
- Entertainment industry experience strongly preferred
