Role OverviewThe Director of Human Resources will serve as a senior HR leader and strategic partner to the business, responsible for driving people strategy, manager capability, and scalable HR practices across corporate and retail teams. This role will oversee HR business partnering, employee relations, performance management, and compliance while partnering closely with executive leadership to support SKIMS’ continued growth and global expansion.
This individual brings strong business acumen, deep HR expertise, and the ability to balance high-touch leadership with operational rigor in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Act as a strategic HR partner to senior leaders, providing guidance on organizational design, workforce planning, performance management, and talent development
- Translate business goals into people strategies that support growth, retention, and engagement
- Coach and support leaders on employee relations, performance issues, and leadership effectiveness
- Lead and develop a team of HR Business Partners and People Operations professionals
- Establish clear frameworks for performance management, feedback, and career development
- Support succession planning and leadership development initiatives across the organization
- Oversee complex employee relations matters with sound judgment, empathy, and consistency
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across corporate and retail populations
- Partner with Legal and People Operations on investigations, policy development, and risk mitigation
- Champion SKIMS’ culture and values through thoughtful people practices and leadership behaviors
- Support organizational change initiatives, including new business launches, restructures, and global expansion
- Partner with DEI, Talent, and People Operations teams to enhance employee experience and inclusion
- Drive consistency and scalability in HR processes, policies, and manager tools
- Analyze people data and trends to inform decision-making and proactively address risks
- Support global HR alignment in partnership with international People & Culture leaders
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including 4+ years in a senior leadership role
- Proven experience supporting fast-growing, high-performance organizations (consumer, retail, fashion, or tech preferred)
- SHRM certification (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) preferred
- Strong background in employee relations, performance management, and leadership coaching
- Experience leading and developing HR teams
- Deep knowledge of U.S. employment law; international experience is a plus
- Exceptional communication, judgment, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity, move quickly, and balance strategy with execution
