Based in the Los Angeles or Orange County office, the Human Resources Coordinator will be responsible for supporting and maintaining key HR processes and initiatives, specifically, the firm’s staff performance and compensation processes, ensuring standardization and efficiency. The role offers the opportunity to handle a broad range of HR responsibilities while ensuring adherence to company policies, legal standards, and best practices.

This role reports to the Assistant Manager, Human Resources.

Responsibilities
  • Leading the Staff Introductory Period, Mid-Year Check-In, and Year-End performance evaluation cycles by managing timelines, communicating requirements to supervisors and staff, and ensuring the accurate completion of evaluations and related documentation.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert for HR colleagues and firm leaders by providing guidance, troubleshooting evaluation issues and monitoring progress to ensure adherence to firm standards and deadlines.
  • Maintaining and improving performance and compensation tracking systems, ensuring data integrity, accurate reporting structures and up to date supervisory relationships across the firm.
  • Supporting leadership by creating, updating, and distributing organizational charts that reflect staffing changes, growth, and restructuring.
  • Creating and distributing regular and ad-hoc reports to support leadership insights, identify trends, and provide actionable data for decision making. Offering support to staff and supervisors on evaluation tools, criteria, and documentation expectations.
  • Preparing, and issuing formal communications related to staff status changes, including promotions, title adjustments, compensation adjustments and office or department transfers.
  • Coordinating cross functional updates with HR leadership, supervisors, payroll, recruiting, and operations to ensure accurate application of changes in relevant systems and clear communication of effective dates, next steps, and follow-through requirements.
  • Responding to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex or sensitive matters when appropriate.
  • Providing guidance and clarification to employees on HR-related topics, including benefits, payroll, and firm policies.
  • Applying strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret instructions, address practical issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Performing other duties as assigned to support the broader Human Resources function.
Qualifications
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in tracking, reporting, and interpreting performance and compensation data.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in documentation and processes.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proven critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze issues and develop sound resolutions.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with individuals at all levels of the firm.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, troubleshoot issues, and follow through independently.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Human Resources, Payroll and Benefits practices, as well as general knowledge of employment laws and privacy regulations.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.
Experience
  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of HR experience in a law firm or professional services organization required.
  • Completion or ongoing pursuit of a Professional Human Resources certification a plus; familiarity with Workday desirable.
  • Experience supporting HR operations, performance evaluation cycles, or structured HR processes.
  • Experience maintaining and auditing HRIS data, including reporting structures and supervisory relationships.
  • Experience with creating HR reports, identifying trends, and presenting data to support decision-making.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders such as payroll, recruiting, operations, and HR leadership.

The annual compensation range for this position is $80 - 100k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
