The Role

The Senior Director, Regional Human Resources (Sr HRD) is a key strategic partner to both the field veterinary teams as well as the broader HR team. This role is responsible for bringing to life HR & organizational strategies, programs, and protocol that support the veterinary practices. The Sr HRD is engaged in all people & org initiatives, development programs, HR data analytics, health and safety, labor compliance, and execution of strategic plans within the region.

In working within a multi-site, multi-state organization, the Sr HRD will closely partner with the regional leadership team to help define long-term regional strategy and identify ways to support strategies through talent management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provides strategic HR leadership to regional and fields teams, including day-to-day coaching, talent assessment & talent management, and designing & executing long-range regional people plans.
  • Understands and leverages organizational trends and market insights including talent planning, org design, and turnover management to ensure proactive talent management in the region.
  • Identifies key performance indicators and prioritizes work to deliver the organization s human resource and talent management action plans; this can include, but is not limited to - engagement results, turnover management, talent assessment, and overall culture index.
  • Monitors and ensures the organization s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and recommends modifications to policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Provides guidance and leadership to the human resource management team; assists with resolution of human resource, compensation, and benefits questions, concerns, and issues.
  • Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • At least ten years of human resource management experience required, with strategic, talent management, and/or business development experience highly preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
The physical requirements
  • Office work and standing and walking during practice visits.
Travel
  • This role will require up to 50% domestic overnight travel.
