The Vice President of Human Resources is a senior enterprise leader responsible for building, scaling, and leading a data-driven, digitally enabled people platform across Diamond’s current and future markets. This role operates within a decentralized, private equity–backed environment supporting a large, skilled, field-based workforce.

This leader partners closely with the CEO, executive team, and market and operations leaders to ensure Diamond has the right talent, leadership depth, systems, incentives, and culture to support rapid growth, geographic expansion, and platform integration—while preserving the craftsmanship, accountability, and values that differentiate Diamond and its founder-led operating companies.

The role requires a leader who is highly engaged and visible, particularly in the early stages, capable of building and maturing the HR function while moving fluidly between hands-on execution and strategic leadership.

Key Responsibilities Enterprise HR Strategy & Platform Leadership
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive leadership team in a private equity–backed, decentralized operating environment, aligning people strategy with value-creation plans, operating priorities, and exit readiness.
  • Design and lead a scalable, multi-state HR operating model supporting a skilled, field-based workforce across CA, WY, AZ, NY, CT, and future markets.
    Bilingual - Spanish speaking skills required.
  • Support the evolution and integration of founder-led businesses, balancing enterprise consistency with respect for local leadership, culture, and operating nuance.
  • Build and mature the HR function over time, remaining personally engaged while developing internal capability, structure, and process discipline.
Employee Engagement & Front-Line Partnership
  • Maintain a visible, accessible, and credible presence across the organization, engaging directly with field and corporate employees while establishing transparent and consistent channels for two-way communication.
    This position is required to be in the office regularly during regular business hours.
  • Lead complex employee relations matters, investigations, and escalations with sound judgment, consistency, and appropriate documentation.
  • Build trust across the workforce through direct engagement, timely responsiveness, clear expectations, and follow-through.
Data-Driven & Digital-First HR
  • Lead a fact-based, metrics-driven HR function, leveraging data to inform decisions related to workforce planning, retention, engagement, productivity, labor cost, and performance.
  • Own HR systems strategy, including HRIS selection, implementation, optimization, and automation.
  • Drive a digital-first approach emphasizing efficiency, self-service, and a frictionless employee experience for field and corporate team members.
  • Establish HR dashboards, KPIs, and analytics aligned with operating and financial outcomes.
  • Partner with market and operations leaders to drive workforce planning, leadership development, and succession planning.
  • Collaborate with leaders to attract, develop, and retain high-performing field, operational, and corporate talent.
  • Lead executive, management, and front-line supervisor coaching and development, leadership training, and performance acceleration initiatives and accountability.
  • Establish consistent, scalable performance management and talent review processes across markets.
Talent Acquisition & Employer Brand
  • Define and execute platform-wide talent acquisition strategies aligned with growth plans and market dynamics.
  • Strengthen Diamond’s employer brand while honoring the heritage and “secret sauce” of founder-led and acquired businesses.
  • Ensure recruiting processes scale efficiently while maintaining safety, craftsmanship, and cultural alignment.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across all operating markets, with particular focus on wage-and-hour compliance, employee classification, and timekeeping practices, including highly regulated jurisdictions such as California, New York, and Connecticut.
